Behind the Pages: How I Create My Illustrations
Every illustration in my books starts with my imagination — and sometimes, real photos from my life — then goes through hours (or days) of prompting, tweaking, and refining in Canva. From erasing and recoloring to layering and shading, it’s a hands-on process from start to finish. My style may use modern tools, but the heart of each page is completely my own.
The Making of S.C.I.F.I Inkworld
This summer, creativity took over our home—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I wanted my kids to be part of this publishing adventure, so I created something just for my oldest son: S.C.I.F.I Inkworld—Sylus’s Collection of Imagination, Fantasy & Ideas. From designing logos to writing his very first book, this series is all about honoring his wild creativity and big dreams.
Why I Started Writing Children’s Books
I never thought I’d become a children’s book author—until a writing class and a conversation with friends changed everything. What started as a creative spark turned into Moss & Moon Publishing, inspired by my kids, my journal, and a whole lot of heart.
